The people behind the plan
Co-Founder & Head Coach
Ryan has spent 20 years coaching runners at every level, from first-time 5K runners and Boston qualifiers to NCAA champions and World and Olympic medalists. His methodology shapes how The Run Plan builds training, evaluates progress, and determines what comes next.
Co-Founder & CTO
Truong-An was employee number one at FloSports and helped build the company from its earliest days. At The Run Plan, he has applied that experience and craftsmanship to turn a complex coaching methodology into a thoughtful, reliable product runners can use every day.
Why we built it
Ryan’s coaching philosophy has always started with the runner. Their fitness, experience, schedule, response to training, and goal all matter. The plan provides structure, while the athlete’s response helps guide what comes next.
Every run should have a purpose. Every adjustment should be made for a reason. Sometimes the right decision is to progress. Sometimes it is to pull back. Often, it is to stay the course and give the training time to take effect.
That process became the Coaching Loop. The Run Plan gives the athlete a personalized plan, uses each check-in to put their response in context, determines the next step, and explains why. Then the process continues with the next run.
Ryan developed the methodology through 20 years of coaching. Truong-An brought the product engineering experience and craftsmanship needed to build it into an app runners can use every day. Together, they created The Run Plan to make thoughtful, responsive training available to more runners.
