Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how TRP App, LLC ("The Run Plan," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use The Run Plan mobile app and website (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

Information we collect

Account & profile. Name, email address, phone number (optional), date of birth, gender, and location/timezone. Date of birth and gender are used to calibrate your training paces (age-grading); your timezone times your weekly check-ins.

Training & health information. Your race goals, running history, weekly mileage, personal records, injuries, shoes, post-session check-ins (effort/RPE, how you felt, pain flags, notes), and the workouts and plans we generate for you.

Connected health & wearable data. If you connect Apple Health, Garmin, COROS, or Strava (via our integration partner, Terra), we receive workout and activity data such as distance, duration, pace, heart rate, splits, cadence, and elevation so your coach can adapt your plan.

Subscription & payment. Purchases are processed by Apple, RevenueCat, and/or Stripe. We do not collect or store your full payment card details; we receive your subscription status and related identifiers.

Usage & device data. App interactions, device and OS information, and diagnostic/analytics events (via PostHog) to operate and improve the Service.

How we use your information

  • Generate, deliver, and continuously adapt your personalized training plan.
  • Power AI coaching responses and the explanations behind each plan decision.
  • Schedule and process your check-ins, and surface coaching notes.
  • Provide customer support and send service-related communications.
  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, and analyze and improve the Service.

Apple Health (HealthKit) data

Information obtained through Apple Health (HealthKit) is used solely to provide the Service's coaching features. We do not use HealthKit data for advertising or marketing, and we do not sell it or share it with third parties for their own purposes.

AI processing

We use AI models (provided by Anthropic) to generate coaching notes, decisions, and chat responses. Relevant plan and check-in context is sent to the model to produce your response; it is not used to train third-party models.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit their use of it, including:

  • Supabase (database, authentication, hosting)
  • Anthropic (AI coaching)
  • Terra (wearable/health data integration)
  • PostHog (product analytics)
  • RevenueCat & Stripe (subscriptions and payments)
  • Resend (transactional email)

We may also disclose information to comply with law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and as required for legal, accounting, or security purposes. You can request deletion at any time (see below).

Your choices & rights

You may access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and disconnect any wearable integration, by contacting us at privacy@therunplan.app or through the app. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

International users

We operate in the State of Texas, USA. If you use the Service from elsewhere, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data-protection laws.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the effective date; material changes may be communicated in the app.
